Glossary of Terms
The following terms and definitions are referenced throughout UNIFYNow and the documentation:

UNIFYNow | Extends Microsoft's Identity Lifecycle Manager (ILM) 2007, Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 and Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) 2016 to ensure continuous compliance, reduce administration costs and meet service levels by adding real-time and event triggered capability. |
Agents | Encapsulates the connection details required to connect to, or perform a function against, a target system. |
Operations | Represent a defined packet of work. Are embedded within and determine the flow of execution of Operation Lists. |
Standard Operations | Any operation that is contained within the tree structure of an operation list. |
Check Operations | An operation that determines whether an operation list should begin execution by checking whether changes have occurred. |
Operation Lists | Encapsulates a series of operations together. |
Operation List Run | A run is the execution of a single Operation List. |
Schedules | Determine how frequently an Operation List should be run. |
Scheduler | Handles the timing of schedules, e.g. Operation List timings. |
Groups | A logical collection of operation lists. |
Exclusion Groups | Prevent contained operation lists from occurring concurrently. |
Trigger Members | Members of exclusion groups which - when currently running - prevent other members from running. |
IIS | Internet Information Services, a Microsoft web server technology. |
Services | The UNIFYNow product consists of a service and any number of listening management studios. This service can be manipulated from the Windows Services page. |
Active Directory | A Microsoft Directory Service for the storage of user data. |
Run History | The Run History is a collection of past run details in MIM. These details are stored in the MIM database, and can significantly slow down the MIM instance. |
Run Profile | An execution entity stored within a Management Agent. |
PowerShell Module | A PowerShell module is the container for a PowerShell script. |
SQL Server | A Microsoft database management system. |
LDAP | Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is a protocol for the manipulation of directory information. |
CSV Logs | Log files in UNIFYNow are stored in Comma-separated Values files. |
MIM Portal | The MIM Portal is a graphical user interface for accessing and manipulating a specific Microsoft Identity Manager instance. |
