Functionality

UNIFYBroker/Microsoft FIM v5.0 is an Extensible Connectivity Management Agent 2.0 (ECMA2) which enables generated management agents to interface with UNIFYBroker using the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).  The adapter supports the following operations:

  • Call-based full and delta imports
  • Call-based exports
  • Password synchronization

Each configured management agent can correspond to one or several adapters in the UNIFYBroker instance.

UNIFYBroker/Microsoft FIM v4.0 and v4.1 are comprised of two main components:

  • An Extensible Connectivity Management Agent (ECMA1) providing an interface between FIM and UNIFYBroker; and
  • An UNIFYBroker plugin for extending UNIFYBroker to generate packaged management agents for FIM.

The management agent component is a single DLL extension enabling generated management agents to interface with UNIFYBroker using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). The adapter supports the following operations:

  • File-based full and delta imports
  • Call-based exports
  • Password synchronization

LDAP Data Interchange Format (LDIF) is used for retrieving and exporting identity information.

Each configured management agent corresponds to a single adapter in the UNIFYBroker instance.

The plugin adds an xMA generator to the UNIFYBroker service, enabling each adapter to be represented as a packaged management agent for interaction with FIM.
