UNIFYBroker/Frontier chris21 Prerequisites

UNIFYBroker requirements

Refer to the UNIFYBroker prerequisites article in the UNIFYBroker product guide.

Frontier requirements

Refer to Frontier documentation or support. There may be some additional requirements, for example the hosted service may have additional prerequisites.

Frontier chris21 requirements

The following are the requirements of the Frontier chris21 environment prior to use with the connector.

Choosing between the "HTTP Communication Method" and the "Web Services Option"

UNIFYBroker/Frontier chris21 supports both the "HTTP Communication Method" and the "Web Services Method".

The Frontier chris21 components required for the "HTTP Communication Method" are available free of charge. For the on-premises version of chris21, these components are located on the Frontier chris21 installation CD and do not require activation. Refer to Frontier for the hosted solution.

Please note that although UNIFYBroker/Frontier chris21 supports the Frontier "Web Services Option", it is not required for the on-premises version. Refer to Frontier for details on the hosted solution. The Frontier "Web Services Option" communication method is a component provided by Frontier at an additional cost, and requires activation in the Frontier chris21 system (Code: Z10).

Installation and configuration of the "HTTP Communication Method"

The following Frontier chris21 components are required by the "HTTP Communication Method":

Create the Frontier chris21 website in Windows IIS

Refer to the “How to access the BRE using other HTTP software” section in the "Windows Web Connection.htm" page of the Frontier chris21 documentation.

Connectivity can now be tested by browsing the supplied ASP page on the Frontier chris21 website in Windows IIS.

The following Frontier chris21 components are required by both communication methods:

Install and configure the Frontier chris21 Scalable Pooled Agent (SPA)

Refer to the “Install ASP page for the chris21 Internet Option” section in the Frontier chris21 Technical Manual.

Configure the Frontier chris21 Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)

In order to allow the connector to perform Import Changes operations, then the Frontier chris21 EAI will need to be configured for each GTR file.

For more information on how to enable EAI for forms refer to the Frontier chris21 documentation.

  • Write access (Change – 3, or Add - 2 in provisioning scenarios) to forms that will be updated or will be provisioned to by an external system
  • Delete level access (Delete - 1) in its EAI record to clear EAI changes following successful imports
