Step-by-step sample for creating and configuring Event Broker v3.0.0 Agent, Operations List, Schedule, Check Operation, Operations and Group

Shane Lim 13 years ago updated by anonymous 8 years ago 7

I find it a bit hard getting start with Event Broker v3.0.0.1, dispite of the Getting Started

I believe a step-by-step sample for creating and configuring Event Broker v3.0.0 Agent, Operations List, Schedule, Check Operation, Operations and Group would make this much easier. It also took me a fair bit of effort to find where each different components are located or can be configured.

I believe something along the line of would help

1 - Create and configure Agent in the Agents tab
2 - Create an Operation List in the Operations tab
3 - Configure an Operation List in the Operations tab by click on that particular Operation List. Note: Ensure that Operation List is "disabled" as only disabled Operation List can be configured.
4 - If required, click on the icon next to the Schedule to add the schedule for this operation list
5 - If required, click on the icon next to the Check Operation to add Check Operation to the operation list
6 - Click on the icon next to the Operations to add Operation to the operation list. Repeat this step if addition Operation is required.
7 - If required, create Group in the Groups tab
8 - Add the Operation List to the Group as required.

Matt, please evaluate this issue.

Shane,

Please confirm if the combination of the Getting Started guide and the EB300:Case Study are not sufficient. I realise they are currently pending screenshots, but let me know if the information you are after is not sufficiently provided across these two articles.

Hi Matthew,

Together the Getting Started and EB300:Case Study does give the details of what is to create. There is no details as to where or how it is created. In the case EB300:Case Study is excellent in outline the recommend Event Broker configuration solution design for this particularly case study.

Perhaps, each componen'st page, eg Schedule, Operations, Check Operation, can contain information how/where to create and configure it. Currently it is left to the user to find out how that is done.

Also if I may suggest that a reference link is provided in the Getting Started to the EB300:Case Study as an outlines an example of Event Broker configuration for an identity management solution.

Hi Shane,

The documentation has been updated to reflect the requested sections that didn't already exist.

Shane,

We've updated the documentation with the two items that were missing a "how to" type description, namely creation of schedules and groups. There already was a reference to the case study from the getting started guide, but I've made this link clearer.

Thanks you.

Verified the following document is available.
How To - Create an Agent
How To - Create a Standard Operation
How To - Create a Check Operation
Create a Schedule
Creating a Group

One additional comment I would like to add is perhaps we should create a Demo demonstrating the step-by-step for Event Broker configuration for the Case Study that is made available for Introduction. There is was a free software which allows to take screenshots with added label and comment (no voice) and compile it into navigatable html based demo.

Issue is resolved. Closed.
