UNIFY Management Studio always installs to ~\Program Files (x86)\UNIFY Solutions\Management Studio

When deploying the management console I tried overriding the default C:\Program Files (x86)\UNIFY Solutions\Management Studio but the software was installed to C:\Program Files\UNIFY Solutions\Management Studio regardless. Not unhappy that it splits it out this way, but it's not the option I selected.

Management Studio still uses the old Visual Studio installers. I just took a look at the installer project and it appears to have been done correctly.

I would not know how to get the old installers to behave correctly.

Is this a serious issue for you? Or is it something you can live with? As making use of our new WiX based installers is a fair investment of time, hence why it has not yet been done.

Thanks.

Not a serious issue at all, but just the sort of thing that can bite you in a prod deployment. This is mainly to flag this to be fixed next time, which I'm sure you will.

I wasn't going to bother logging this one, but took the time to do so with QA in mind only.

Won't be fixed as there is not going to be another version of management studio. New installer framework already caters for install paths correctly.
