Event Broker Uninstallation does not remove product

Matthew Clark 13 years ago updated by anonymous 9 years ago 7

Attempting to uninstall the proposed RC of Event Broker "succeeds", but does not remove the application. The web directory, Cassini assembly, and even the service executables remain.

The Event Broker service also remains in the Services snap-in.

Could not replicate locally.

On an attempted installation / uninstallation - the service was removed successfully.

Couldn't reproduce.

I just tested this on Test 1 as I may have some artefacts from migration on to the new domain and v3.0.0.3. On Test 1 I see that it is just the Cassini and the FingerprintTopLeft.png files that still remain after installation (in addition to the files that should remain, ie. those in the Extensibility and Logs directories).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\SharedDLLs

for removing SharedDLLs ref counts.

Then check again.

Clearing the registry values in this location resolved the issue on my local machine. All that remains (correctly) are the extensibility and logs directories. Issue closed.
