UNIFYBroker/Frontier chris21 Use Cases

UNIFYBroker/Frontier chris21 enables a number of operations for managing human resource data. In addition to Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) operations for any configured form in the system, the following can be achieved:

  • Flatten chris21 data model for use in directory based systems
  • Write directory-populated information back to chris21, such as email addresses
  • Support for chris21's dynamic schema
  • Manage user terminations
  • Manage the organizational hierarchy and resolve manager data
  • Perform default file attachment handling

Flatten chris21data model for use in directory based systems

Data corresponding to a single entity is stored in a number of locations across chris21. The data modelling properties of UNIFYBroker in conjunction with multiple chris21 connectors can allow for information from many forms to be relationally joined into a single object class, presenting information in a format more suitable for directory based systems such as Microsoft Active Directory™.

Write directory-populated data back to chris21, such as email addresses

An operator is typically required to manually enter information that has been created or updated by an external system, such as Microsoft Exchange™. Instead, the connector provides this functionality by allowing such data to be managed by the identity management solution, without the need for manual intervention.

Support of chris21's dynamic schema

chris21 is highly configurable, allowing implementers to customize form attributes and data types. The connector accounts for this, allowing for dynamic retrieval of the configured schema, complete with accurate mappings of data types and respect of read-only settings.

Manage user terminations

In conjunction with transformations, terminations entered by HR are able to be managed quickly and efficiently by managing data from the Termination (TER) form, resulting in the timely removal of access to critical systems and sensitive data.

Manage the organizational hierarchy and resolve manager data

When position information is brought under management by connecting to the Position (PDT) form, the organizational hierarchy becomes available for use in the configuration of organizational units and user groups. When combined with a relational transformation, a manager reference can also be imported and resolved throughout the solution.

Perform default attachment handling

Default user attachments, such as user photos and documents, can be retrieved and updated.
