Updating the Microsoft Office Enterprise agent from Azure Graph API to MS Graph API

Adrian Corston 1 year ago in UNIFYBroker/Microsoft Office Enterprise updated 1 year ago 3

The documentation for the Microsoft Office Enterprise agent refers to the Azure Graph API.  Given that API is deprecated and will be turned off in 2022, are there plans to upgrade it to use the MS Graph API?

Hey Adrian,

Thanks for the question. We're currently in the process of building a new connector for Graph functionality - given the breadth of capability that the Graph API brings, we felt it was better to build a new connector rather than reusing the Microsoft Office Enterprise one (which had specific AAD API functionality).

We'll definitely have something released before the deprecation date, at this stage I'm planning on having something out this year. I'll keep you up to date with our progress on it.

Good to hear, Matt - there's a lot going on in the AAD IGA and ID lifecycle space in the way of feature development that will lead to a corresponding series of extensions in the Graph API methods at a rapid pace in the coming months.  A generic connector capability with schema discovery similar to the "Aurion Generic Connector" concept (with a more modern take) would be along the lines I would be looking for to make it future-proof.

In the meantime we have lightweight PowerShell module approaches we will use for now - see UNIFY.Connector.AzureUser and UNIFY.Connector.AzureGroup in Solutions.Tools.
